One-of-a-kind Program
Does your child like basketball? Fishing? Horseback Riding? Ceramics? Rocketry? Boating? Roller Hockey?
At Black Bear Lake, CAMPERS CHOOSE their favorite activities and participate in them on a daily basis. Campers who enjoy soccer play soccer every day, under the supervision of a trained professional. Same goes for any of our vast selection of elective activities.
NEW for 2010
- More Air-Conditioned Facilities for Model Making, Rocketry, Painting, Cub Crafts, & Jewelry Design
- CITs (entering 10th grade) now have a 2nd Overnight Trip
- Upper Campers entering 9th graders are now called LIT (Leadership In Training) including day trips every other week, one Overnight trip and all the trips the campers entering 7th and 8th grade program are now included
- Upper Campers (entering 7th and 8th grade) will have optional trips every Tuesday and Thursday. The trips are included in the tuition. Trips will include Mini-golf, Baseball games, Bowling and the movies. More trips will be added as the summer gets closer. The LITs (entering 9th grade) may also go on the Upper Camp trips
- Senior Camp (entering 5th and 6th grade) will now have a 5th elective activity – now choose 5 instead of 4!
- Junior Camp (entering 3rd and 4th grade) circus night! Participate as an elective or just watch a great show - it will be fantastic!
- Lower Camp (entering 1st and 2nd grade) Trip to the movies for a private showing of the Latest Summer Blockbuster!
- No other summer program allows such customized flexibility. As a result, Black Bear Lake campers return year after year, from First Grade all the way through Ninth Grade.
- Group Choice is picked each morning from a list of over 20 fun activities. Group Choice activities are NOT from the Elective Program. Group Choices include Dunk Tank, Giant Moon Bounce, sandbox, Banana Boat rides, Lanyard, extra Free Swim, Dance Revolution and many more.
- Children have an easy time making friends at Black Bear Lake, because they meet other campers their age while participating in the activities that THEY choose and enjoy. BBL campers learn new skills, while refining their present talents with the widest variety of athletics, performing and fine arts found anywhere.

- Each week, campers get a listing of more than 40 exciting activities to choose from.
- Campers choose 4 electives [campers entering 1st grade to 4th grade] or 5 electives [campers entering 5th to 9th grade] and will participate in them during the period assigned for the week – Monday through Friday.
- The next week, they can choose all new electives, or the same activities again.
- Campers also enjoy two swims in our heated Olympic-size pools, group choice periods, exciting special events and delicious hot lunches (included).
