2018 Week 1 Newsletter - Black Bear Lake Day Camp

2018 Week 1 Newsletter

Oh Hi,

I remember being a new camper. More than three decades later I can still recall the butterflies in my stomach. Would I make any friends? How would I know where my bunk was and what I was supposed to do? What if I got lonely or homesick? Would my counselors really be there to support me? These were all questions on my mind on my first day of Camp, and here at Black Bear Lake we know they are the same fears that all of our new campers had Monday morning as they stepped onto our camp buses. Because our entire team can remember what it was like to be new to Camp we go to pretty great lengths each summer.

With the first week of summer ’18 complete, we are rocking and rolling! We have been fortunate with amazing, sunny weather and camp is in full WEEK 2 AT B gear. Returning campers are back in their second home and new campers are falling in love with the wonders of Camp. Bright sunny skies and bright happy campers are a winning combination. From the many calls and emails…we want to thank you for your kind words about camp and how much FUN the children are having!

Camp is certainly a team effort; one that involves many amazing and dedicated people. From the Office Staff, to Food Service, Transportation, Maintenance, Bus Drivers our Health Center Nurses and, of course, the Group Leaders, Counselors and Specialists in Sports, Swim, Arts, and Outdoors.

Yours in camping,
Ian
