Transportation

Your child’s day at camp may begin and end with bus transportation, a service included in your tuition payment.

Our Hub pick-up and drop-off system makes getting to and from camp efficient and cost effective! Hub is the most popular transportation option among our Black Bear Lake families. Based on camp families’ locations, we’ve designated numerous shopping centers, schools, and street corners as “hubs.” These designated drop-off and pick-up spots are strategically located—it’s very likely there’s a Hub stop near you! Hub is INCLUDED in your camper’s tuition. With the exception of our farthest areas, buses generally pick up between 8-8:30 am and arrive at camp at 8:45 am. Buses depart from camp around 4 pm; drop-off times range between 4:10-4:45 pm.

We work with a professional bus company to ensure our pick-up and drop-off system runs efficiently and on time. Every Black Bear Lake bus is AIR-CONDITIONED. Each bus is equipped with seat belts, cell phones and tracking technology and are driven by professional CDL-certified school bus drivers. Our drivers are mature professionals who drive children to school & camp all year and do not work at camp all day long. Each bus is also staffed with highly trained bus counselors who ensure that all safety guidelines are followed.

Parent Drive to/From Camp

Parent Drive is another popular transportation option among our Black Bear Lake Families (included in your camp tuition). Drop-off your camper between 8:45 am and 9:00 am; pickup is between 3:45 pm and 4:00 pm.

Before & After Care

For those parents who need a longer day for their children, they may get dropped off any time after 7:00 am. In addition, children may stay after camp until 6:00 pm. On the last day of camp After Care will end at 5pm. On the last day of camp After Care will end at 5pm. There is an additional fee for Before Care and/or After Care.

There is no discount for Parent Drive when doing Before & After Care.

Door to Door Service

Door-to-door transportation is offered on an EXTREMELY LIMITED BASIS (and not in all areas) for an additional fee.  Most times, our camp buses and vehicles can pick up and drop off campers at the foot of their driveway; however, on occasion, narrow streets, cul-de-sacs and other impediments may make it difficult for this to occur.  In the event we cannot safely access your home, campers may be asked to walk out to the nearest cross street (similar to what they do for school).  You will be notified if this is the case as soon as we complete our dry runs in the spring.  The Door-To-Door fee still applies in this situation.
